The purpose of my standing at this election is to give voters the chance, through me, to tell the politicians they wish them to do more to work together.
This means them overcoming to some extent the more limiting aspects of the Party system and working with issues in a way leading to a fuller resolution of them.
This will then be more inclusive, as well as more representative, and in all likelihood more effective.

The need for this is being shown more and more within the situations themselves and the circumstances we have been confronting in parliament as well as elsewhere.
We have become witnesses to this with ever greater intensity in relation to Brexit but the demonstration of need is not confined to this issue.
It is much more general as well as escalating and we need to address it.
To start with our MPs need to address it and be given all the help they need to do so.

At the same time we need to insist they do.

So my candidacy is an opportunity for you to send this message through me and to do so without wasting your vote or spoiling your ballot paper.

It is hard to see what could be more crucial at this present time.
‘Getting Brexit done’ will do so only within the narrowest interpretation of what this means.
It will fail to address the most important aspects of the current situation and what it is trying to tell us.

Beyond this election, there is much work to do in creating the conditions for a fuller democracy from the ground up.
But for now the attention must be on what our MPs can achieve and the need for them to do so.

This is about the evolution of democracy and evolution of us all within that.
It is also clear how we mobilise and best apply the forces within and between ourselves in order to do so.

All politicians offer change.  But this change comes from within the people themselves, not given to or forced upon them.  There is a crucial difference.

It’s an opportunity to get involved.  We can all respond to this in our own way and make our own contribution.
Then we can see more of ourselves in the final outcome.
